6th Annual Epic Beard Competition

Save the date for Spokane Beard & Mustache's 6th Annual Epic Beard Competition benefiting the Solution is Hours! We'll be back at the Pin for the third year in a row. We raised over $24,000 for River's Wish Animal Sanctuary in 2016 and had 113 competitors, help us break both of those numbers for the Solution is Hours! Get in on all the fun and great raffle prizes during an evening you won't want to miss. Tickets for competitors are $20 presale, $25 at the door, spectators are $10.

Categories for the 6th Annual Epic Beard Competion:

1. SIX MONTH RACE:
Competitors shaved at the end of March, will grow until the competition on October 7th. Judging will be based on best overall beard grown in 6 months, not necessarily based just on length.

2. MUSTACHE:
Any length, any style. Hair growing past ½ in. from corners of the mouth must be shaved. No other hair is allowed on the face. Styling aids permitted.

3. BUSINESS BEARD, 3" & UNDER:
Full beard, “groomed and neat”, with attention to detail on neck and cheek lines. Mustache can be styled or left natural. Length not to exceed 3” when measured from the bottom of the lower lip. Styling aids permitted.

4. FULL BEARD UNDER 6", NATURAL MUSTACHE:
Full beard as it grows and left natural, the more natural the better. The mustache may not be highlighted and the beard may not be turned under at the bottom. Length not to exceed 6” when measured from the bottom of the lower lip. No styling aids permitted.

5. FULL BEARD 6" – 12”, NATURAL MUSTACHE:
Full beard as it grows and left natural, the more natural the better. The mustache may not be highlighted and the beard may not be turned under at the bottom. Length not to be less than 6” or exceed 12” when measured from the bottom of the lower lip. No styling aids permitted.

6. BUILD-A-BEARD:
The Build-A-Beard category is wide-open, can be female or male. Create the most imaginative and fantastic beards and/or mustaches you can. The choice of materials is completely up to you. The more creative, the better! Beards or mustaches are accepted in this category.

7. FULL BEARD, STYLED MUSTACHE:
Mustache: Prominent and consisting only of hairs growing within 1.5 cm past the end of the upper lip. Aids allowed. Beard: As it grows naturally, the more natural the better. Can be any length. No aids allowed.

8. PARTIAL BEARD:
Any facial hair that is not a full beard or moustache. Examples include but are not limited to Goatee, Chops and Donegal. No styling aids permitted.

9. COUPLES:
Any pairing of people can compete. Must have a theme to the couple. Grab a partner and have fun! Styling aids and props/costumes permitted.
Each competitor must buy a ticket in the category.

10. FULL BEARD OVER 12", NATURAL MUSTACHE:
Full beard as it grows and left natural, the more natural the better! The mustache may not be highlighted. Unlimited length, must be over 12” when measured from the bottom of the lower lip. No styling aids permitted.

11. FULL BEARD FREESTYLE:
Free design and styling of the beard. All full beards compete here. Styling aids permitted. Legal aids shall include only wax, hair spray, and other hair cosmetics. The use of hair extensions, false facial hair or any form of hairpins is prohibited.

12. PARTIAL BEARD FREESTYLE:
Free design and styling of the beard. All partial beards compete here. Styling aids permitted. Legal aids shall include only wax, hair spray, and other hair cosmetics. The use of hair extensions, false facial hair or any form of hairpins is prohibited.

TOP 3 FUNDRAISERS:
Award for the people who individually raise the most money through Crowd Rise and offline collection.

BEST CLUB PARTICIPATION:
Goes to the club with the most members signed up to compete at the competition.

CHARITY CHAMPION:
Awarded to the person who receives the most money in their bucket while on stage competing.

GRAND CHAMPION:
Selected by the judges from the group of people who have won their individual categories.
