Christmas in the Piedmont during the Civil War
From 10am to 4pm visit Bennett Place to witness how the Christmas season was commemorated in the Carolina Piedmont during the Civil War. See the Bennett farm decorated in modest fashion of the time. Their will be reenactors doing cooking demonstrations, candle dipping, and weapons demonstrations. You will even be able to visit with Ole St. Nick! There will be complimentary hot apple cider and cookies. This program is FREE.
Then from 6pm to 9pm return to the site for our 3rd annual Christmas and the Civil War Candlelight Tour. During this tour visitors will learn how soldiers and civilians improvised Christmas during the Civil War. This is a ticketed event. Cost is $3.00 per adult and $2.00 per child, children under 5 are free.
